You’ll be assigned a fictional M&A deal and tasked with building a comprehensive picture of the target’s market. This includes a full industry overview, competitor landscape, and comparable companies table — the same research pack an analyst would produce on day one of a live deal.
 

Deliverable: completed research pack.

Using your Week 1 research as the foundation, you’ll build an M&A accretion/dilution model from a pre-structured Excel skeleton. You’ll populate deal assumptions, sources and uses, and produce a clean output showing whether the deal is accretive or dilutive to the acquirer.

Deliverable: completed Excel model.

You’ll consolidate three weeks of work into a full IBD-style pitch deck presenting your deal recommendation to the deal team. This is your chance to tell the story of the transaction — the thesis, the financials, and the risks — in the format a real MD would expect to see.
